How It All Started
If you take time to watch the video we have created to tell our story, you will see that Next Step has been created through and by a group of people committed to following God's will for their lives and the lives of those they serve.
From the very first step in building our community, we have sought to follow God's will for serving those in the grip of addiction. All of our house managers and our program and operations directors have extensive experience in the field of addiction and in helping others through the journey of recovery.
The Next Step Community
The Next Step Community is made up of several properties within the Farrington Grove neighborhood serving people in various stages of recovery. Our main recovery home is The Sanctuary House, which is a large facility on Washington Ave. in Farrington Grove that can house up to 20 women. The women can then move on to the Journey House, which is a facility around the corner from the main recovery home that provides apartment style living for individual women. We also have a resource center, called The Meeting Grounds, where we hold various 12-step meetings, classes and events. There is also a men's recovery home nearby, called The Cornerstone House which can house up to 8 men. The women and men and families that make up the Next Step Community strive to not only maintain sobriety, but also to recover in such a way that they can give back to the community and become powerful role models to those seeking to overcome addiction.
